How to get weather information for your city:-
IMD has made it really very easy to get the weather information for your city using a toll free number ,just dial 18001801717 and follow the IVR instructions,dial 1 and then input your city code to hear the weather information,
You can get the city codes here dialcode.org/Asia/India/(Consider the area codes ,not the dial codes).
IMD has also recently started an sms alert service for sms based weather alerts on Thursday, This service is meant for general public for dissemination of weather and disaster related information,under this IMD Will send sms to individuals who register on the site with the information for natural calamities, it will also suggest the action needed to be taken by authorities and people.
